Imagine a “Lawrence of Arabia” like desert just before sunset….
The heat during the day was 45+ degrees celsius but the evening breeze made for a welcome coolness.
We were already traveling for a week through Jordan; Lily and me.
For our trip through the desert we had our own bedouin guide who knew the desert like the back of his hand.
He told us all about how they live in those hard circumstances and also gave us a short explanation about bedouin marriages…
Lily and me climbed up a small mountain to see the sun go down while our bedouin guide waited on the foot of the mountain with hot and sweet mint tea for when we returned.
While the sun went down and created the most beautiful sunset we ever saw, I decided to pop the big question to Lily; “do you want to marry me?”
What Lily answered you can find out on our weddingday…. and it wasn’t just a yes or no….. 🙂
UPDATE: Since the wedding has already happened I can tell you what Lily said….
It was “are you joking…”. Not the answer I expected!!
She didn’t believe I was serious because of the previous explenation that was given to us about bedouin marriages.
